"I will live to remember you guys"

Before I get to Elder Buyers' email from today I want to share something I came across on the Facebook page of one of the members from his area in Lira, Uganda. Included is the caption that he had with the picture.

"I will live to remember you guys."

I thought it was an amazing example of how he is touching the lives of the people that he is meeting.

---------------------------------------------
Hey Everyone,

Not too much to say about this week.  We are just working as hard as we can given the visa things.  Attached is a picture of how our time goes when we can't make plans to see people.  Don’t worry, it doesn't happen as often as you would think.

Rwanda is good.  It is a lot different from Lira.  Maybe it's just because I have been away for so long but it actually reminds me a lot of the states.  Not the Rigby life but like in the cities and stuff.  It's actually been kind of tough adjusting.  You get comfortable in one place and start to learn the language, build relationships, and all that stuff then it all just changes.  It’s getting better though.  Attached are some pictures of our house and room.

Yeah I’m feeling better.  I woke up with a little something that has been lingering but I don't think it's anything big. I was able to weigh yesterday and I’m down to 180.

My comp is pretty good.  I spelled his name wrong the first time it's Elder Ndlovu.  This is his second transfer so he is still kind of unsure of himself especially when it comes to making plans and stuff.  I have kind of been leading the area even though he has been here longer.  Things are getting better though.  No worries.  He is from Swaziland.

Today we went to the Genocide Memorial.  It's a museum that takes you all from leading up to the genocide to the aftermath and stuff.  It was really interesting and (I'm not sure what words to use) it was just shocking.  They had rooms full of pictures of people that were killed and things.  It’s a crazy thing that happened here.  Fun fact for ya, it is illegal to ask a person what tribe they are from.  Everyone is Rwandese.

Not much else to talk about.  I hope you all had a great week and will have another one.  Love ya.

Transfer News...

Another transfer done.  It's crazy.  The time is flying by.  It was a good week.  One Tuesday we had Zone Conference.  Each district was given a topic and each missionary was told to prepare a training for that and President would choose day of who would give trainings.  I was chosen to give the training for our district on commitment.  It went really well I thought.  The focus was kind of recommitting at different stages of the journey.  Pre-earth, when we put our papers in, when we receive the call, then also when we are in the field.  I really liked studying it out and stuff.  The major focus of the Conference was not giving in to fear.  It was really powerful.
Saturday we had 2 baptisms.  They were helping to complete families and it was great to see the joy the families had on Sunday after those received the Holy Ghost.
We also baptized an older guy (muze) on Sunday before church.  His name is Ojok and he is a powerful guy.  He really strengthened my testimony of the Book of Mormon and how it changes us.  A few weeks ago he was questioning everything and what not.  Then that all just kind of stopped and we found out that he had really been reading the Book of Mormon.  It changed him completely and now he has a powerful testimony of everything.
This morning we received transfer news but I'll come back to that.  We went to Chobe again and had a really good time.  We saw a lot of monkeys and warthogs but not too much else.  Anyways back to transfer news.  You guys probably won't be as excited as I am but I'm going to RWANDA!  I'm way excited.  That is the one place I wanted to go while I was here.  Enduring Adyel for the past little while is all worth it.  I'm really going to miss the people here though.  They are really great...  But RWANDA!  Wahoo!  My new comp is named Elder Ndgovu.  This will be his second transfer.  Some people think I am opening a new area but I'm not sure.  From the sounds of it I have to learn a new language as well.  I'm excited.  It will be great.
Love you all and have a great week.

P.S. Grandma, the Elders loved the spaghetti.

-----------------------------------------------------------

I was actually able to email back and forth with him a little bit this morning and ask a few questions about his transfer news.

Kelly - Rwanda?  Cool!  When do you move??
Elder Buyers - I leave lira on Wednesday day but that's all I know.
Kelly - I’m sure it'll be awesome!  Is it pretty rural there too??
Elder Buyers - It probably won’t be.  The church is really new there so I think it is mostly just in the cities.  I’m really excited though.

Christmas in Uganda

Hey Everyone,

This week was pretty good.  On Monday all of Lira zone took off to go to Gulu.  We stayed the night there and enjoyed for nice football/soccer and relaxing.  Before coming home on Tuesday The Moores (Gulu Senior couple) made us some food.  A LOT of food.  It was great.  We had a good Christmas here in Lira.  Christmas came and went without too much.  It didn't feel like Christmas. I really liked all the letters.  I was actually curious how you got all of them. We visited a couple of people that evening and ate a lot more food.  That is usually how people celebrate here.  Lots of food.  Thursday it was back to work like usual.  It was a good week.

It has been a great year.  It really has.  This next one will be great as well.

This is week 6 of the transfer and looks like it will end really well.  There are a few people that are almost really for baptism and there are some families that we have been led to that will be really good for the church and are ready for the gospel.

Everyone have a good week.  Love you all.

Merry Christmas

This week was just another week in paradise.  It was full of the same problem we have been having but that's ok.  We just work through.  On Saturday we had a baptism.  Here name is Lydia.  She is awesome.  She has had a lot of tragedies in her life but the gospel has brought her so much joy.  She wants to serve a mission when she is able to.
Also on Saturday we had the Christmas party.  It was more like a fireside or devotional than a party but there was food so it's all good.  I had intestines for the second time.  I was able to eat them this time.  The party was fun though.
Things are going good enough here.  We are working hard and doing all that we can.  At those times that it seems like there is no way you can find the energy to work (mostly mornings) that is when we just go and the Lord gives us what we need.  1Nephi 17:50 "If the Lord had commanded me to do all things I could do them... and if I should say it (act in faith), it would be done (accomplish the task)."
I hope things are going well though.  I get to call home in just a few days.  I'm pretty excited for that although I think it will be pretty awkward to be honest.  We'll see.  Well, everyone have a great week and a Merry Christmas!

Bare Your Afflictions with Joy and Patience

The work has been tougher than usual.  This transfer we haven’t had any baptisms.  We will have one this Saturday though and hopefully a couple the weeks after and a couple the week after that.  Finding hasn't been going well at all.  Members don't want to work with us so we can't see any women investigators or recent converts and most of our investigators that we had last transfer have been out of town.  Not much to say other than that.  We just keep working.  Elder Morley and I get along really well and we teach well together.
Me in my proselyting attire
This transfer has been flying by.  Usually the first few weeks drag on then the last few speed up but this whole transfer has been fast.  It’s been tough but it says many times in the Book of Mormon to "bare your afflictions with joy and patience.”  We're on the Lord's time now and what we hope to happen sometimes doesn't.  Just as the Jaredites had problems with big waves and winds while crossing to the promised land.  We have the same trial.  Also like them we are protected by the Lord and if we have faith nothing can overpower us.  And in the end all those waves and winds will be for our benefit, to get us to the promised land/exaltation/blessing in the work (Ether 6:4-12).
Love you all.  Have a great week.

Prayer Is The Most Powerful Tool That We Have

Hey guys,

How's home?  Not much to talk about here.  We had another interesting week.  Not much to say.  Just know that prayer is the most powerful tool that we have.  The gift to talk directly to God truly is a gift.  He will answer our prayers if we have faith and look for the answer.  He works through others more often than gives a direct answer.  He will help all people through their trials as long as we humble ourselves.  He loves us and wants to help all of us gain not only eternal life but exaltation.  Don't distance yourselves from the one man that loves you no matter what (NO MATTER WHAT!) and the one man that gave his life for you personally, with your name in mind, so that you can find joy.  I'm grateful for all of you and for the encouragement and love you show to me every week.  Love you all and have a good week.

New Companion

Hey Everyone,

Not much to talk about this week.  Things are just going like usual.  Elder Morley is my new companion and he is awesome.  He is really powerful.  We have already learned a lot from each other these last few days we were together.  It should be a really great transfer.  Other than that not much is going on.  The rain has stopped.  It was really raining like crazy two weeks ago then nothing.  No rain at all for the last 2 weeks.  It is crazy hot.  It's starting to get dusty too because everything is drying out.  Not much else though.  Love you all.  Have a good week.

It's a Girl!

We got transfer news this morning.  They are starting to send it out on Mondays now.  I am staying.  Elder LeCheminant is going to Entebbe.  My new comp is named Elder Morely.
Me in my African shirt
On mission your first comp is your father and you are their son.  Your second comp is called your mother and you are their daughter.  I am Elder Morely's second comp so he is my daughter, thus, “it's a girl."  Haha.  Fun fact for ya.  I am actually ok with staying in Adyel, Lira.  There isn't really anywhere else I would rather go so I might as well stay here.  It will be a good transfer.  Transfers happen Wednesday and Thursday.
Elder LeCheminant on a pedal boda on our way into Lira
Last Monday night the APs (assistants to the President) showed up for surprise exchanges.  I never expected them to come to Lira because it's about 5 hour drive away.  I was wrong.  It was really good though.  The spent all day Tuesday with us and left Wednesday morning.  Elder Reed came with us.  It was really good.  I learned a lot and we had a really good day.
Boyo and Rice
Other than that not much happened.  We talked about having a zone Thanksgiving yesterday but it didn't happen.  My Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday was ramen noodles and Lemonade.  Yumm.

We had a baptism on Saturday.  She was the sister to one of the members.  It was good.  Other than that there isn't much to talk about.  Everyone have a good week.  Love ya.

Almost 1/4 of the way through...

Before I share his email from this week. Elder Buyers mentioned that he really enjoys getting personal letters from people in the mail. If you could take a few minutes to write him a letter, I know it would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need his mailing address. Thank you.

**********************************

Another week done.  I'm almost a 1/4 of the way through my mission.  It just keeps speeding up too.  This one flew by.  It’s weird, the first couple weeks of the transfer usually take a little bit to get going then the last 2 or 3 just fly.

For Thanksgiving we are going to have a dinner on Sunday. I'm not sure what we are going to eat but the whole zone is going to get together and do something. It should be fun.

It was a good week.  Tuesday we did District exchanges.  I was with Elder Manyakanyaka in my area and Lecheminant was with Elder Hardman in the other area.  I really liked working with Elder M.  He is probably the person I've gotten closest to on mission because we have been together since I got here in the same district.  I learned a lot though.  I love the way he teaches.

Wednesday did exchange kind of things the last couple hours of the day but we were all in Elder Manyakanyaka's area just finding.  On Friday night we did the same thing but in our area.  Finding has been kind of hard on both sides so it was good to have the extra help.  Both nights here fairly successful.

Thursday morning we did service for one of the members, Joseph.  He is building a new mud hut but needed to tear apart his old one so that he can reuse the bricks.  He helped him tear it down.  It was pretty fun actually.  I have pictures but I can't send them now.  After that the Zone leaders showed up for exchanges.  Elder Mgijima came with us.  It was pretty good.  I learned some good things.

Saturday we had the baptism for Dilish (the wife to Okello Bruno).  It took a little longer for here to get the desire that Bruno has but we had a really great and powerful lesson a few weeks ago and ever since then she has been eager.  Right not that is their whole family that is living at home and they are all 3 baptized.  There is also a son in Kampala and another son in Adyel but we have only been able to see him a couple times.  It is a really powerful family though.  Bruno is so strong in the faith.  I am so glad that I could be a part of seeing him change.  Well that’s about all this week.

Love you all.  Have a great week.

Just the Regular Work

Hey everyone,
Well there isn't too much to say about this week.  Not too much happened, just the regular work.  Things didn't go too great by way of numbers but I feel that I was still successful but PMG pg. 10 standards.  Below is just the letter I wrote to President Chatfield, it just about sums up the whole week.
Love you guys,
Elder E.E. Buyers
----------------------------------------
President Chatfield,

Well this week was an interesting experience.  I'm not sure how to describe it.  We just had real troubles making things work.  A few of our investigators were out of town but that wasn't really the biggest problem.  The problem was finding.  We would tract for hours and people wouldn’t be home, anybody, or those that were home wanted nothing to do with us and told us every excuse in the book to get us to leave.  We did our best though.  I really don't feel like it was a failure.  "No effort is wasted”, Right?  I feel like we did all we could it just wasn't in the books this week.  I decided to try to watch myself and my obedience this week.  Last week wasn't too great either and I figure it is either us doing something wrong or it's just the Lord's will, but if I'm doing all I can then it's all up to Him.  On Wednesday I was asked to give a training on "our will vs. the Lord's will.”  I feel it was good for me to sit down and learn as much as I can about it.  At times it felt like the adversary was pushing as hard as he could against us.  I guess that means we are doing something right.  We are just pushing on giving as much as we can.  We hope to have a better week this coming one.

Thanks,
Elder E.E. Buyers

For my younger brotheren

Before I share the email from this week I wanted to share a little bit of a conversation that was started by his emails last week. Over the past couple months we have figured out about what time he will be emailing every Monday so on occasion we are able to get a few emails back and forth with him. They aren't normally more than 2 or 3 but we love being able to have some real time "conversation" with him.
MOM - Wow!  I can’t believe all the things you are eating that you don’t usually like, eggs, sweet potato.  I know I started liking foods when I became an adult that I didn't like as a child.  Then again, maybe they know how to fix those things in Africa so they really taste great.  I like it when you tell us the name of some of the foods you eat, so I can try to find the recipe on the internet so we can try it.  I’m sure it tastes nothing like what you have, but it gives us an idea.
ELDER BUYERS - I'm not sure what it is.  I mean eggs are really our only source of protein.  Meat is rally expensive.  We might get it twice a month.  The sweet potatoes aren't like yams.  They seem more like those ones you bought when grandpa was there just before I left.  The boyo you can't find in the states I don't think.  But you can try to find something close though if you want to make it.
MOM - What is in the Boyo?  I can’t find anything on the internet?
ELDER BUYERS - Boyo is greens (the plant is called Boyo) in g-nut (kinda like p-nut) paste and all cooked.  It’s actually really good but you probably can't find any info on it.  I don't think it is anywhere in the states.
We know that he has been emailing people other than just family so if any of you have any fun facts that he has shared with you we would love to hear them. Please feel free to forward them to Bill, JoAnn or Kelly. Thank you! Now, on to this week's email...

**********************************
Hey everyone,
How's it all goin?  This week was pretty good.  It was slow going by way of work and stuff though.  We had no success tracting.  No investigators showed up to church.  We had trouble reaching our goals.  Desire, not faith but desire, was slowing down as the week went on.  Elder Lecheminant had some sort of sickness all week and passed it off to me half way through the week.  All that stuff all at once.  It just wasn't good.  We made the best of it though.  Something I've been thinking about lately is the enormous determination of the adversary.  The hardest time of my life was the few weeks just before I put in my papers.  Then it cooled off for a while because that was such a spiritual experience.  A few weeks later he was back at it.  Giving everything he had to make me slip up, to make me doubt myself.  Then the first few days of the MTC were fine mostly because you are just confused.  Everyone thinks it gets easier once you are on mission too.  I did.  Truth is it doesn't work that way.  He tries even harder.  It seems like every week there is something new that he is throwing at you.  I'm not saying this to deter anyone from doing what they know they should.  It’s just a warning.  Be ready for it.  Heavenly Father will provide the strength to push through these things but you have to be willing to submit to him.  Since I’ve been here I have watched Satan take one of the most powerful future missionaries I have ever seen and watched him tear him to the ground.  He will place huge walls in your way but, and you heard this time and time again but I testify that it is 100% true, our Heavenly Father will get you past these trials if you let him help you.  Just remember to put your trust in him.  Mark something: something - "Be not afraid, only believe" and God will provide a way for you to accomplish his commandments (1 Nephi 17:50-51 1 Nephi 3:7)
Anyways, my rant is over.  Well on Wednesday we had an amazing Zone Development Meeting.  President Chatfield is making some major changes to the mission.  He gave to Zone Leaders some stats to show us where we are struggling by way of "real growth".  The people that were baptized most of them didn't have that real conversion through the Holy Ghost as it should have been or just weren't ready and didn't stay.  A huge focus that Chatfield has given us is to find those that didn't stay and bring them back if we can.  Of course we still find new members if we can but he told us that we really need to focus on finding those really elect for now just because the church is so new in this area.  It think it will be really good and we will see some major improvement if we do our best.
On Saturday our Branch President had his Graduation party thing.  It was pretty cool to be there, even though it rained, and to get a ton of food.  It was the first time since I’ve been here that I had to eat with hands.  Rice, beans, goat, chicken, casava, and lamb it was really good.
On Sunday there was a Solar Eclipse.  You couldn’t see it too great from Lira but you could see it enough.
The moon mostly covered the sun but it was still really bright and you needed a couple pairs of sunglasses to see it.  It was cool though.
I lost about 10lbs this last transfer.  We don't have a scale at our house but there is one in the senior couples old house that we go into to get things every once and a while.  They are back in the U.S. for a little while.  So every time we are there I take advantage of it.  I’m trying to start lying off the soda though.  See how it goes.
Well, sorry.  It was kind of long this week but i hope everyone has a great week.  Love you all.

Digging

Hey Everyone,
This last week was pretty good.  We had a few problems because almost our entire teaching pool is women and we have to have a member come with us to teach and we couldn't find members that would work with us.  We did a lot of finding with not a ton of success.  We got way out in the bush though a few days.  It was really cool to be out there (you know how I am, I like being away from everything) it was really productive though because the houses were few and far between.  We did what we could though.
Me & Topista (the 1st Counselors Daughter)
Both Tuesday and Saturday we did some service, digging.  I’m actually starting to like it.  It’s hard if the ground isn't wet but I like it.  My hands are getting tough again but I don't know how long that will last.
Me and Godson (one of the members)
We finally got to watch conference.  On Saturday and Sunday we watched all the sessions but priesthood.  It took a while because after every talk they would do a short summery in Luo for those that don't know English.  It was really good though.  Sunday morning was great.  Mom and Dad, you are lucky to have been there live.
Everyone eating lunch on Saturday

Winni with my gloves on
It rained a ton this week.  Both Friday and Saturday we had to run about a mile each day to get to where we were going and then we would be drenched when we get there.  My stuff is still drying.

Dad - Mom still wants to know if you do your own cooking of meals or you have someone to do it.  You talked about beans and rice for lunches all the time. But didn't say anything about dinner except the members don't feed you very often.
Breakfast depends on what I am in the mood for.  Usually not much.  Lunch is a huge plate of rice, beans, sweet potato and boyo and dinner usually doesn't happen because I’m not hungry but sometimes i make noodles like spaghetti noodles.
Our awesome lunch we got after digging on Saturday
Well everyone have a good week.  Love you all.

We went on Safari

Well, I'm not really sure what to talk about.  There comes a point that it's just the same thing week after week and there isn't much to write about.  Both Elder LeCheminant and I Stayed through transfers.  Elder Nyoni left and Elder Manyakanyaka stayed and is training again.  The new guy’s name is Elder Hardman from Utah.  He's pretty cool.

Remember Okello Bruno who was baptized a few weeks ago?  On Saturday he baptized his daughter.  It was a really amazing thing to watch.  His wife wants to be baptized too but she hasn't been coming to church so she can't be right now.  We are all working on it though. Things are going good though.

Chobe last Monday was awesome.  I attached some pictures of some of the animals we saw.

That hippo was a lot closer than is seems in the picture.  At one point it was like 10 feet away.  We were out looking at another part of the river and it kind of snuck up behind us.  It was cool though.  We also saw a tiny croc but I couldn't get a picture of it.

It was really cool to see them in the wild.  It was a lot different than in the zoo haha.

It seems like it is still July over here.  It just keeps getting hotter.  The actual hot season starts the end of November and I hope I will be gone around then but whatever happens I guess.  To be honest I have no desire to go anywhere other than Lira here in Uganda.  It would be cool to open an area in the Far East or far west but the church isn't even there at all right now.  I’d like to go to Rwanda but that is a slim chance.  I just have no desire to go anywhere near Kampala unless it is just for like 2 days to get a few things then head north again.  Whatever happens I will do of course but that's where I am right now.  Sorry kinda got off on a tangent there but back to winter.  I am going to miss the snow that’s for sure.  You will have to send some pics.

Kelly, I got your Halloween package and opened it.  I didn't open it because I forgot you told me not to, I just opened it because you can't stop me :p

Anyway.  I hope things are going good.

Love you all.

I turned 3 months...

I don't have much this week but it was really good.  I turned 3 months on the 10th.  Man the time has really started to fly by.  I try to read the transcription of my setting apart at least once a week.  when I read it this week I noticed how right after I was set apart President said, "well you're just as much a missionary now as you were 3 months from now.”  I also looked a bit back into my journal and stuff.  Man, I might have the exact same authority and power as I did then but I am nowhere near the same missionary.  The craziest thing is how you don't even realize it.  You just change.  In all good ways but you change.

Anyway, this week was pretty good.  Tuesday morning we did some service.  Digging.  Not too much fun but it was a good workout.  My hands have gotten so soft in the last little while.  It happens fast when you don't work much.  I got a few blisters.  Wednesday was Independence.  President said to do what we can but enjoy the day.  In the morning we worked a bit then we went to a celebration that was in Lira.  It wasn't much.  A few people talked about how great Uganda can and will become and a bit of the army was just standing in the field.  After a while we decided to head to lunch and afterward went to the church for a small party that they were having.  On the way to the church we walked past a water pump that a bunch of people were lined up at.  At this point the water had been out in all of Lira for about 3 days so everyone needed water.  Right after we walked past I decided to help out a bit.  I was just planning on filling like 2 cans then be on our way but then the enyabos (women) that were there started taunting me saying that munos (white people) can't work.  I got inspired so I filled 15 10-liter gerycans.  That might not sound like a lot but oh man.  I was pumping for about 40 minutes.  It was good though and I didn't really work out that morning so it was good.  Other than that is was an average week.  Lessons were good.  We found some great people.  It was good.

On Friday we had just started working and our plans were terrible because nobody answered phone and what not.  It looked like it was going to be a long day.  We were walking down the street and passed a motorcycle that had a sticker on the housing of its headlight.  It said, "Don’t lose hope." that has kind of been my motto for the past few days and it was been helping.  Have faith in God and he will provide a way if it be his will.

Today we are at a place called Chobe.  It is a resort kind of place in a national park.  It is a NICE place.  On the way in we saw all kinds of animals.  Giraffe, Cape buffalo, warthog, hippos, monkeys, baboons, all kinds of bucks, impala, a lot of stuff.  We are hoping to see elephant on the way out.  It has been a nice relaxing day.

It’s hard for me to see things changing.  The only season there is here is hot.  Things are supposed to be drying up in November but it never cools off.  It just gets hotter.  It still seems like it is July.  I miss the seasons but I will be back soon enough.  Everything is starting to move faster.  There isn't enough time in the days and stuff.  There might be hope for me after all.  After all, I’m 1/8 of the way done already, haha.
Nearly everyone in Adyel has gardens.  It is almost village so there are places with just huge fields.  It’s crazy to think.  They do all this by hand.  Plow with a ho (dig. vary tiring) plant by hand.  Everything.  Some fields are twice the size of our property at home.  All worked by hand.  It’s crazy.
Just so you know transfer 2 in over.  We get transfer news tomorrow but I have a feeling I am staying in Adyel/Lira.

Love you all,
Elder E.E. Buyers

Miracles are Happening

Apwoyo panu na (hello my family),
I'm going to be quick because I don’t have much time but this week was really good.  Our numbers weren't great but miracles are happening.  We are teaching the family of Bruno, our recent convert.  On Tuesday we had a lesson with them and shared the last bit of the restoration and stuff which includes Joseph Smith’s first vision.  After we were done it went silent for just a bit.  Bruno started talking and bore a VARY powerful testimony about the church and restoration and Book of Mormon.  Just about everything.  It was so powerful.  It made me think about when we first saw him.  He didn't seem to understand anything we said and we weren't planning on seeing him again.  We passed by his house a few days later and just walked passed without a second glance.  We were a little ways passed and this girl comes running up saying that her father is calling for us.  We were like ok and went back and taught him again.  He still didn't seem too serious but we saw him a few more times and now look at him.  The gospel changes people.
Then just a few days ago we had a lesson with a family that we found a few days before.  We were also sharing the restoration and they had all been really quiet the entire time.  That’s not unusual, Ugandans don't give much feedback at all.  Anyways, the names of the parents are Bosco and Sicilia.  When we were done we asked if there were any questions.  There was the usual silence for a bit then 30 seconds later Sissy said, "I'm pretty sure the thing with that boy (Joseph Smith) is true.  I had a feeling when you were talking about it."  We kind of jumped up a bit and asked here to explain the feeling.  With a little help she explained the feeling of the spirit perfectly.  We told her about how it was the Holy Ghost telling her these things are true and stuff.  It was really powerful.  We invited them to church and all but for some reason we didn't invite them to baptism, it didn't feel right.
That was Saturday and on Sunday when we arrived at church Bosco and a few of his kids were already there.  Sissy had to stay home because there were visitors there I guess.  So we had a good sacrament and all and when sacrament was over I went out and talked to Bosco for a second.  All I asked was, "What did you think of the service."  He waited for a few minutes then pointed to the chapel and said, "This church is true.  I've been to many before but none like this.  All Churches talk of Christ but compared to this they seem run by Satan.”  I was really awestruck and he just kept talking.  "I want to make it official; I want to be part of this.  When can I be baptized?”  I was so surprised it took me a minute to get back to earth but then we talked about a few more things and went right back for Sundays school.  Haha it was really interesting.  We had never asked any of his family about be baptized or anything.  They here already prepared though.  They were ready.
The week wasn't too bad though.  We had trials as expected.  Our faith and patience was tested but in the end it was all good.  For the pictures there is one of a member named Solomon in an orange tree.
He was working with us and we went to a RCs house and she told us to take oranges so he climbed up and we filed a huge bag full of them.  Oh yeah, oranges here are green.  Kinda weird.  Then there is a picture of the people that came to our D&C class on Friday that we teach every week.
Well everyone have a good week.  Love ya,
